Kin Beach - North Beach
Comox-Strathcona B, British Columbia, Canada
Kin Beach Provincial Park is located in the Comox Valley and overlooks the Strait of Georgia. A day use area and a campground are located in the park. The beach is rocky, but is a popular area for swimming, canoeing, camping and fishing for salmon, rockfish and shellfish. The day use is complete with picnic tables, fire pits, a playground and pit toilets are available during the summer.
This beach is one of those beaches that will be measured "as needed" by the Vancouver Island Health Authority. This means that the Vancouver Island Health Authority may keep the beaches open to swimmers despite the potential dangers to swimmers. Fraser Riverkeepers will always mark this beach with a grey rating (unless they begin to monitor the beach more frequently) to warn swimmers of potential dangers. When swimming in these waters, always exercise caution.
