Kailua Beach is one of the largest, most beautiful sandy beaches on the east side. There are picnic benches, tables, showers, parking, BBQ pits, volleyball courts, and public restrooms.

Kailua Beach is popular for kite surfers, kayakers, swimmers, and beach goers. It is also a popular spot for the Hawaiian tradition of outrigger canoe paddling and racing.

The beach has lifeguards and is a calm beach, safe for most swimmers.
