Cabrillo Beach, a popular beach area in San Pedro, is divided into two parts – the inner which is located within the harbor and the outer which is outside the breakwater. Because Inner Cabrillo Beach is protected by the harbor, waves are small and gentle and very accommodating of families with small children. The beach is also popular for observing grunion runs. The area is equipped with a snack bar, picnic tables and playground and is situated adjacent to the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium. For boaters, there is a boat ramp open 5am-10pm. Beach parking is available for a small fee.
