Hobe Sound Wildlife Refuge

Part of the U.S. National Wildlife Refuge System, this 1,035-acre refuge was established in 1969 as an effort to protect Loggerhead and Green Sea turtles. Located along the Atlantic coast on Jupiter Island, the area not only hosts a range of wildlife and nature study opportunities but contains the 173-acre Reed Wilderness Seashore Sanctuary. The sanctuary was designated as a National Natural Landmark in 1967. Onsite amenities include dune walkovers, parking, rangers, fishing, surfing, swimming, shelling, scuba diving, and boating.
