Hobart Beach (Inlet)
Northport, New York, United States
Hobart Beach, also known as Sand City, is one of the three public beaches in the 11768 zip code, along with Asharoken and Crab Meadow beaches. There are beach accesses on both the Northport Bay side and the Long Island Sound side. A rock jetty appears at the far south end of the beach at low tide. Amenities include restrooms, showers, boat access, swings, and a jungle gym. There are no food concessions here, but ice cream trucks come by frequently. The boat ramp, where commercial fishermen are permitted to unload, is a hard surface, steep and slippery single lane. Hours are 10am-6pm Monday through Friday during summer months. Handicap accessible and wheelchairs are available. Beach season passes are $25 for residents. Daily passes are $15 for residents and $25 for non-residents. No alcohol, fires, or pets allowed. This beach is also home to the Sarah H. Ruppert Water Bird Park Preserve at the very end of the beach, where there is no trespassing. This is a Tier II beach.
