Hnausa Beach

On the sandy, west shore of Lake Winnipeg, Hnausa Beach located is 1.5 hours north of Winnipeg. Swimming is unsupervised, and the beach has sheltered picnic area and both modern washrooms and outhouses for visitors. The Hnausa Beach Provincial Campground has 45 mainly electrified sites, with potable water, showers, and firewood available. There is a designated fishing area for anglers wanting to try for the local goldeye or pickerel. A government dock and boat launch is 2 km north, and Riverton is the nearest full service community, a 15 minute drive. Hnausa is an Icelandic name, called after a community in Iceland where some of the area’s first settlers originated.
