Hillside Beach is a long sandy beach along a protected bay on the east side of Lake Winnipeg. Like many beaches on this Lake, it is bordered by a lagoon separated by sand dunes from the beach. The Hillside Beach lagoon is large and suitable for boating, fishing, or bird watching. There are boat launches into both the lagoon and the lake in Hillside. The public beach has portable outhouses installed during the summer months for visitors. Hillside Beach has a general store and gas station one block from the beach which has a restaurant and picnic tables, and provides modern washrooms. They also serve ice-cream and sell firewood.
