UPDATE - A beach closure has been declared for the area from El Segundo Jetty to the North and the Redondo Beach city limit to the South, due to a release of petroleum effecting the area. Beach users are advised to avoid contact with the material washed on shore, the water, and wet sand. Contact with oil may cause skin irritation and long-term health effects. 5/28/2015

The City of Hermosa Beach is located in the South Bay of Los Angeles County and is known as “The best little beach city.” The beach is great for volleyball and enjoying the sun, and the strand offers a bike path perfect for bicycling, jogging, and roller-blading. Nearby restaurants, bars, and cafes help contribute to the fun and festive atmosphere typical of south bay beaches. Lifeguards are on duty during daylight hours.
