Situated on the Southern Shore of Tomales Bay in Tomales Sate Park, Hearts Desire Beach is a popular among large families with young children. This stretch of white sand and calm, shallow water has been a Marin County favourite since 1952. This beach is perfect for swimming as it is surrounded by buoys to keep motorized boat traffic away and protected from winds by the Inverness Ridge. Tomales Bay stems from the Pacific Ocean thus Hearts Desire is a salt water beach. Due to its convenient location within Tomales State Park, Hearts Desire has plenty of activities for all ages, such as public barbecues, picnic tables, hiking trails, restrooms and parking lots. Although there is lots of natural wildlife, dogs are not permitted on Hearts Desire Beach.
