BEACH INFO:

Kilby Provincial Park is at the southern edge of Harrison Bay, which is a part of the Harrison River. It offers limited camping and swimming along a small beach, and a boat launch popular with fishers. Note that even in summer the water can be quite cold, and the river current here is strong year round. Families with children and those who are not strong swimmers should be very cautious.

Afternoons can get quite windy at this scenic spot. Nearby is the historical Kilby Museum, which features the old Kilby General Store, hotel and artefacts and displays on notable locals from the once bustling European settler village of Harrison Mills that had its heyday there in the 1900s to 1930s.

The Harrison River/Bay may have abrupt changes in water levels and velocities during spring/summer freshet and in rainy winter months. Watch for drop-off and very cold water temperatures. Please stay within the marked area. There are no lifeguards on duty.
