Gimli Beach is a sandy, freshwater beach on the waterfront of the Town of Gimli. There is a long stretch of brightly colored picnic tables, play structures, a concession stand, and a long boardwalk for strolling. This beach park is monitored daily in the summer by Gimli Beach Patrols. The town has all amenities including dining, shopping and hotels, and cultural festivals throughout the summer. You will see signs of the Icelandic heritage of the earliest residents, including the towering Viking statue at the south end of 2nd

Ave.

Gimli is home to a commercial fishing industry, and has a large marina protected by a breakwater walkway, covered in lovely mural paintings. Fresh fish from the lake can be found in local restaurants.

Water quality samples are collected at twice a week at Gimli Beach throughout the monitoring season.
