Georgica Pond’s Beach-Side location can be privately accessed through the Georgica Beach Association. Otherwise, the closest public access by East Hampton Town Permit is at Beach Lane in Wainscott. Georgica Pond is a 290-acre coastal lagoon that borders East Hampton and Wainscott. The pond is surrounded by some of the most expensive real estate in the country. But, the pond has had a history of being extremely polluted by fecal bacteria and toxic algae blooms that could make humans or pets sick. It would be wise to check the New York Department of Environmental Conservation’s Toxic Algae Blooms notification page BEFORE entering or fishing from Georgica Pond.
