Gas House

This community beach is located at the end of Gas House Lane, on of the oldest parts of the Marblehead waterfront. It is a small cobble/sand beach on the shore of Little Harbor, overlooking Gerry Island. Popular activities include swimming and relaxing, plus paddleboards and kayaks are available for rental. The beach is named for the gas generating plant near the beach that used burned coal for the town's street lamps in the late 1800's. There are no lifeguards on duty, and no bathrooms or other facilities available. Parking is prohibited on Gas House Lane. Street parking maybe available within walking distance.
