Gansevoort Peninsula (south of)
New York, New York, United States

Photo by Kenneth Li / Google Maps
This is not an official beach but unsigned access to the Hudson River in a semi-protected area between the Gansevoort Peninsula (north) and Pier 26 (south). This area is currently being developed by the Hudson River Park. Pier 26 has free kayak rental. This area may someday in the next 2 years be a beach. It is not likely to be an official swimming beach. It is the site of the David Hammon art piece Day's End.
There is no current. Access to the water is easy. You walk over gravel and submerged riprap.
There are no lifeguards. There are no bathrooms or changing areas. There will likely be bathrooms in the near future as this area is being developed by the Hudson River Park.
