French Bay Beach is a typical Cold Lake beach with natural sand, clear crisp water, and dense boreal forest. There is a small camping and day use area as well. Many families seem to go to the nearby Kinosoo Beach, this is a quieter and more remote option. The super-soft white sand, tranquil waters and bay scenery are fantastic.

The beach is easy to access from the parking area. There are washrooms available. Power boating is allowed and there is a boat launch; however, it is not suitable for anything larger than a "car-topper."
