Fort Pond is a 181-acre pond located in Montauk town that is surrounded by local businesses, restaurants, and residential properties. It is frequently used for paddle boarding, fishing, and pedal boats that can be rented from Puff N Putt, Montauk’s local mini- golf course. Owned by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Fort Pond Ramp is located on the southern part of the Pond, just West of the athletic fields in Montauk Village. The ramp is commonly used for fishing, but provides very limited shoreline access. Parking is available. The ramp has been used as the starting point for the swimming portion of the Mightyman Montauk Triathlon in years past.
