This boat launch is located on the southern tip of Pleasure Island near Wilmington in the Fort Fisher State Park. The area lies between the Cape Fear River on the west and the Atlantic Ocean on the east. This small beach access overlooking The Basin and the Cape Fear River can be found at the end of Fort Fisher Boulevard South, near the Fort Fisher - Southport Ferry. There is a parking lot and fishing piers. Explore the Basin Trail for some great hiking and bird watching. There are no restrooms at this beach access. There is a $12/day permit for 4WD vehicle beach access. Park hours are 8am to 9pm from June-August; 8am to 8pm March- May and September-October; and 8am to 6pm November through February.
