Fairlee Creek is one of the four Bayside Creeks located in Kent County. The bacteria monitoring site is located at Safe Harbor Great Oaks Landing Marina where you can find popular restaurants like Jellyfish Joel’s and The Landing, plus a great beachfront. The beach has picnic tables, lounge chairs, a playground, basketball and volleyball courts, and a cookout pavilion with grills. Swimming is not allowed at the beach because of strong currents, but beachgoers can wade in the water. The beach has free access for everyone but members of the marina can access the parking lot adjacent to the beach. Non-members will have to park at the top of the hill at the marina office and walk half a mile to access the beach. During summer weekends, a shuttle golf cart may be available to transport non-members from the parking lot to the beach. Bathroom facilities are available at the marina. A mile and a half up Fairlee Creek, there is another public launching site called Fairlee Creek Landing that is more accessible for paddlers and boaters without a membership to the marina.
