Fair Harbor on Fire Island, just a few miles south of Islip, New York, is located on the Great South Bay. Its world famous beach and friendly people provide a welcome retreat from the day-to-day work and stress. The Fair Harbor Community Association (FHCA) was founded in 1977 and is a voluntary organization of renters and homeowners determined to enhance and improve community life. All the money collected goes toward Bay Beach lifeguards, playgrounds, swim programs, landscaping and physical improvement, garbage pickup, and more. Fair Harbor is part of the Fire Island National Seashore. It is a unique place with private land ownership and a national park. This is a Tier II beach.
