This site was last sampled by Rogue Riverkeeper on 9/14/22. During 2022, according to Rogue Riverkeeper's sampling this site met the OR standard for water contact safety 8 out of 13 times. This first sampling event of the season was 6/22/22.
The increase in the presence of E. coli measured in this site later in the summer can possibly be attributed to a decrease in stream flow level, an increase in water temperature due to summer heating, and the impact of irrigation and agricultural usage.
The Palmerton Arboretum is a park along Evans Creek with an arboretum of 5 acres containing almost 90 species of trees and shrubs from around the world. It is located on West Evans Creek Road in Rogue River, Oregon on the site of a 1930s-era tree nursery. Palmerton Park has paved parking, a small beach area, turf play areas, picnic and restroom facilities, and a pedestrian bridge leading across the creek and into town.
