Dunewood Beach is located on the Fire Island National Seashore off of Dunewood Walk. The Dunewood Yacht Club is on the bay side of Fire Island, a staple of Dunewood which offers a long tradition of sailing instruction for a wide range of ages and all skill levels. Dunewood is a small beach community located on the western side of the island. It is a popular spot for long-term residents and does not specifically market itself to tourists and short-term renters. The town has very limited facilities and during summertime shares a doctor with nearby Fair Harbor. Bikes are the island's primary form of transportation. This is a Tier III beach.
