Dowses Beach in the Town of Barnstable is a large peninsula beach offering gorgeous views and lots of space to enjoy beach activities. There is a dock as well as rock jetties at the end of the massive, handicap-accessible parking lot. Walk all the way to the end and sit on the viewing dock to relax and watch the ocean. Amenities include restrooms, showers, swim lessons, and handicap chairs. Food, picnic areas, and camping areas are not available. Lifeguards are on duty during summer season. Resident beach stickers are $30 and daily parking passes are $15 on weekdays and $20 on weekends and holidays. The weekly parking fee is $50. For more information, call (508) 420-2403.
