The Denbigh boat ramp has a large parking lot for visitors to come and unload their boats. The water is flat and one can easily see across the water to the back part of Fort Eustis. Swimming at the boat ramp is not permitted. There is also a small trail through the marshland that backs up to the ramp and fishing pier.
