Salt Creek Beach, which is in the Salt Creek Park, takes up nearly a mile of sand just south of the Laguna Beach city limit and includes Strands Beach. The bluffs above offer plenty of green space for a picnic, or throwing around a Frisbee or football. From the metered parking area on Ritz Carlton Drive there is a steep paved hill that leads to the beach. Cars can drop/pick up from this road, but there is no parking at the bottom. There is a paved trail along the park area above the beach and there is another along the sand. There are changing rooms, outdoor showers, restrooms and a snack bar. This beach is very popular among surfers. The southern entrance to Salt Creek is off Selva Rd. where there is free parking, picnic tables, grills, restrooms and a path/stairs to Dana Strands Beach.

Reminders: There is a 3-day rain advisory after each rain storm, use caution as bacteria levels can increase during this period. The County Environmental Health staff advises swimmers that levels of bacteria can rise significantly in ocean and bay waters adjacent to storm drains, creeks and rivers. Swimmers should avoid coastal waters impacted by discharging storm drains creeks and rivers, and beach users should avoid contact with any runoff on the beach during dry or wet weather conditions. As an extra precaution remain 500 ft away on either side from any outfalls.
