Crescent, or Louis Beach faces Southold and Greenport and has great sand, restrooms, and a lifeguard, on duty from 10am-5pm. It is one of the five official town beaches that require a triangular beach permit for access after Memorial Day between 9am-5pm. Any vehicle with a license plate must have a valid parking permit or you risk a parking violation of $100. Beach permits are free for residents; however, visitors can obtain a permit at a cost of $35 per week, $75 per month, or $200 for the season. No day permits are sold. This is also the site of the annual fireworks celebration, which occurs on Saturday, July 9 this year. It is the only beach with commercial establishments on it. No dogs are permitted at any time, but beach fires and barbeques are welcome. A beach driving permit is required for all beach driving. This is a Tier III beach.
