Clam Pass County Park consists of 35-acres of mangrove forest, coastal dunes and 3,200 linear feet of Gulf of Mexico sand and surf. Beach access may be obtained by walking or riding the free tram along the ¾ mile boardwalk through a mangrove forest. Wildlife viewing and birding opportunities are plentiful, and sun-seekers will find turquoise water and soft sands. Parking is by beach parking sticker or daily fee. The park is open 8 a.m. to sundown, year-round. Onsite amenities include a handicapped beach wheelchair, restrooms, outdoor showers, kayak/canoe launch near the tram stop, kayak and catamaran rentals and a concession at the end of the boardwalk offers beach equipment rental, food and drinks. The Conservancy of Southwest Florida offers a free nature walk at 9 a.m. along the boardwalk and beach. No reservations required, meet at the tram stop if interested. This activity is seasonal and available December through April.
