Choptank Marina Beach
Preston, Maryland, United States

Choptank Marina Beach is an unguarded beach on the shores of the Choptank River in the Town of Choptank. The beach includes a sandy area that becomes more exposed on a low tide and is bordered by marsh on both sides. Shallow water extends from the beach out to the end of the marina's bulkhead making it a popular location for kids as well as a great spot to launch a kayak, paddle board, or canoe. The beach is west facing and offers great views of the sunset over the Choptank River at certain times of the year. Adjacent to the beach is Choptank Marina which is managed by Caroline County and offers 70 boat slips, restrooms, picnic tables and a small grassy area. Water samples are collected from this beach as part of the Swimmable ShoreRivers bacteria monitoring program where bacteria samples are collected and processed from local swimming beaches every week on Thursdays from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
