The Chocorua Lake Conservancy provides public access to Chocorua Lake at a seventeen-acre area known as the “Island” adjacent to Old Route 16 on the east side of the lake. Swimming, canoeing, kayaking, and fishing are popular recreation activities on Chocorua Lake. There are narrow sandy beaches accessible from the Island area. Seasonal toilet facilities, no trash receptacles are provided and visitors “carry out what they carry in”. Outboard motors of any kind (including electric) are prohibited on Chocorua Lake by New Hampshire state law. Canoes and kayaks can be launched.
