Channel B cuts across the southern section of Chicken Ranch Beach. Channel B has a history of poor water quality so be alert for warnings and advisories. It was excavated in the late 1990s in an effort to prevent flooding to the properties located upstream. Flow from the ditch also caused the central part of the beach to erode.

Chicken Ranch Beach is located on the western shore of Tomales Bay. This is a favourite launching spot for kayakers. Chicken Ranch’s sandy beach and shallow, warm waters are popular with families. There are no lifeguards on site. This four-acre natural area north of Inverness provides access to the bay.

Access to the beach is off Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. There is a small roadside parking lot available.
