This public beach is often referred to as Sand Hill Cove Beach by the locals of Narragansett, but its original namesake is after Captain Roger Wheeler, who developed the Rhode Island lifesaving system. Visitors to the beach can enjoy saltwater swimming, picnicking, and relaxing. The playground makes this beach especially popular for families with children. The beach is easily accessed by car or bus. Parking fees are in effect. No pets allowed.
