Camp Luther Beach (Hatzic Lake)
Mission, British Columbia, Canada
The lake is very shallow and warm and is popular for swimming, water sports and fishing in the cooler months. While mostly private residences there are a few commercial campgrounds.
There are significant amounts of invasive plants (Eurasian watermilfoil, flowering rush): all boat users, including paddlers, kayakers, canoeists, anglers, etc., are reminded to Clean, Drain and Dry their vessels and equipment carefully to prevent transferring invasive plants and animals to other lakes and areas in B.C.
Neilson Regional Park is on the west of the lake, off Edwards St E, in the City of Mission, BC. Access to the lake from this side is steep. It is advised to bring mosquito repellent through the summer months.
Together with main camp and retreat centre, Camp Luther’s amenities also include a large gym, two grass playing fields, outdoor volleyball court, baseball diamond, playground, horseshoe pits, lakefront area with a seasonal waterslide, and canoes. Camp Luther is accessible to members.
