Brighton Beach - Coney Island
Brooklyn, New York, United States

Brighton Beach is an oceanside neighborhood located in Brooklyn, New York, bounded by Coney Island at Ocean Parkway to the west. It is known for its high population of Russian speaking immigrants and as a summer destination for New York City residents due to its beaches along the Atlantic Ocean and its proximity to the amusement parks in Coney Island. The neighborhood is directly served by a subway station. There is a beach access with a large parking lot on Brightwater Court that leads right to the famous boardwalk lining Brighton Beach. The Brighton Playground is located west of the parking lot and is a great place for children. Food and drink concessions as well as numerous restaurants and shops line the beachside area.
As of summer 2013 there is only one sampling location for Coney Island. The current status for this beach is reflected in the Coney Island Beach page in Swim Guide.
