Brereton Beach offers the best of fun-in-the-sun recreation: swimming, canoeing, sailing and hiking. Part of Whiteshell Provincial Park, the Brereton Beach campground offers 8 electrical and 18 non-serviced sites and a playground, change rooms and picnic shelters within the campground area. North of the lake is the Amisk Hiking Trail, a 4.8km loop through scenic forest and over rock edges to a calm spot of the Rennie River. Not far from this spot is the Alfred Hole Goose Sanctuary where bird lovers can get up close to the numerous Canada geese. Though unsupervised, the beach is sandy and close to the cook shelter. A boat launch is also available; the lake is popular with motor boats and canoes alike, as well as fishers aiming for crappies, walleye and perch. For those who plan on enjoying an extended stay, a grocery store, laundromat and restaurant are not far, located at the Brereton Lake Resort.
