Birds Hill Park Lake East Beach
Oakbank, Manitoba, Canada
Part of Birds Hill Provincial Park which is home to a mix of different landscapes and to a variety of wildlife. Named after James Curtis Bird, the lake was originally a single 80 acre lake. Birds Hill Lake has since been divided into 2 portions; the smaller southern portion is now a stocked lake (with rainbow and brown trout) called Kingfisher Lake, ideal for fishing. Only the northern shore of Birds Hill Lake is designated for swimming. As it is located less than a half hour from Winnipeg, its shores can get very crowded in the summer months. There are washrooms and pit toilets nearby, as well as parking and a water supply. Swimming is unsupervised.
