Bean hollow State Beach is located in the city of Pescadero. The beach was originally called by the spanish name of "Arroyo de los Frijoles", meaning "Creek of the Beans". This name was given because of the small pebbles that were formed years ago by the weathering process between the wind and salt sprays in the rocks.
The beach features great activities for all ages: surfing, fishing, picnicking, and beachcombing. Visitors can explore tide pools with many marine inhabitants. For those who want to learn more about the beach and its wildlife can go on a two mile self-guided nature trail.
Visitors should be aware that a $8 car parking fee applies.
