Check for signs posted at the beach before swimming at Presque Isle State Park. A great spot for kids because of the shallow, calm nature of the water and the adjacent playground. Beach 11 is on the way to the North Pier lighthouse, which was built in 1830 and was the first lighthouse on Lake Erie. This piece of history makes an interesting addition to your beach day. The beach has lifeguard supervision, a bath house, concession stand, and a picnic area.
