La Monserrate public beach is best known around the world as Luquillo Beach. It is an emblematic beach for Caribbean beaches and its photograph has appeared in hundreds of publications as one of the most important tourist attractions in Puerto Rico.
Located on the northeast coast, within the town of Luquillo, approximately 25 miles from the Puerto Rico International Airport, the area is comprised of a stretch of cream colored sands and protected bathing waters. It is also green, due to the abundant vegetation in the extensive green grounds of the property. Besides excellent bathing waters and sand, visitors from all over the island and tourists from other countries may enjoy the well-kept camping facilities associated with the Luquillo public beach. The beach is 400 meters long.
