El Escambron beach is located near the main cruise port in Puerto Rico making it accessible for many visitors and residents. Old San Juan is directly to the east and the city's famous fortress can be seen from the beach. The beach features clear waters along 150 meters of sand situated between two rocky promontories and an offshore reef which creates calm waters ideal for swimming and bathing. El Escambron is part of a larger recreational facility (Third Milennium Park) which offers visitors many facilities within a short distance, including bike lanes, parking, restaurants, and showers.
