Sat at the edge of Christchurch's Porritt Park, this spot is home to the Avon rowing club and was predominantly used as a rowing and kayaking launch. Both the club and the park suffered drastic damage in the 2011 earthquake, with the wooden ramp leading from the shore to the river completely demolished. As of this writing, repairs and assessments were ongoing.
