Avalon Beach between Busy Bee Cafe and Tuna Club (Step Beach)
Avalon, California, United States
Avalon Bay is the primary destination for tourists visiting Catalina Island. The gentle waves are accommodating to kayakers and swimmers of all ages and the nearby shops are great for a break from the sun. Avalon’s most recognizable landmark, the Catalina Casino, a round Art Deco built in 1929, juts out from the island on the north end of the beach. The ‘casino’ played host to dozens of Big Bands in the 30’s and 40’s and continues to be used as a place of entertainment.
