Attons Lake is a small and quiet lake. There is a $4 fee to enter the park, or $40 annually for access to all Saskatchewan Regional Parks. The beach is about 150m long and is bordered on both sides by beds of aquatic grasses and reeds. The sand is fine and light, and the water is fairly clear. It is very shallow about 5-10 meters. The lake bottom is mud, and if the water is low there are some mud bars visible near the shoreline. There is no designated swimming area, and all swimming is unsupervised. No pets allowed on the beach.

Access to the beach is through the regional park gates, and the beach is located a short drive from the entrance. Parking is available near the baseball diamonds, and the lake is a 10 minute walk from the parking area. There are no motorized boats allowed at Atton’s Lake on weekends during the summer months, so mainly swimmers and beach-goers enjoy the beach with no disruption from boat activity. For boaters, there is a boat launch in the park for use during the week and the off-season. The regional park has campgrounds as well as many residential cabins, so there are always lots of people around. Despite this, the beach feels private and calm. It is a great place to relax for the day!

The view from the beach is mainly forest and valley, with a few residential properties. One side of the beach is forested with small trails running throughout, and the other is comprised of cabins. The beach is backed by forest, and a small path will lead you to a recreation area that has a large playground for children and picnic areas. There is also a concession building, change rooms and washroom facilities. There are several trashcans in the area, so litter is not a problem! There is a small wooden boardwalk that leads from the park area down to the beach, which adds character and gives the beach a rustic community-based feel.
