Piroa Falls is situated on the Ahuroa River in the Waipu Gorge Scenic Reserve, located 7km from SH1. The falls are a 5-minute walk along the track down through bush into the gorge. This is a popular tourist site due to scenery, short walking distance and the picnic area at the base of the falls. Dogs are not allowed at the falls without a permit.
